Blessed Are They Who Mourn
Today is one year that my brother passed away. I mourn. He was such a beautiful light in so many lives. To whomever you spoke, each had a way he held a special place in their heart.
Doesn’t it seem that way about those God takes early in life? You wonder why someone so good had to go so soon. But the answer may lie in the question itself. They are so good. They already have gotten it right. The example of their dignity in suffering is one we can only hope to emulate, given the chance. Some who may have been taken without suffering had already served in their lives bringing joy and recognition to those with whom they came in contact. Ordinary everyday people are rarely recognized as saints in the church. But our hearts know they made a difference. Our hearts know Jesus must be so pleased with their service.
Today, let our hearts remember the loved ones we have lost from our physical sight. May we feel their presence with us as we carry them in our hearts. May we know, Jesus comforts us in our mourning.
I miss you Tom.
