Fourth Sunday of Easter
John 10:1-10Today’s gospel is the parable of The Good Shepherd. Note the kindness of Jesus in his parables. He always spoke about things the people could understand, things with which they were familiar. Today he speaks of sheep and the shepherd. People understood that the sheep responded to the voice of the shepherd. People understood that the shepherd walked ahead and the sheep followed.
Today, let’s not only think about how we recognize the voice of Jesus and follow it. But let us also contemplate kindness. Do we speak in ways other people can clearly understand us? Are we cognizant of how our message will best be received? Are we kind?
