Feast of THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST
Happy Father’s Day!This beautiful reading today, Luke 9:11-17, tells the story of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes in the feeding of five thousand men, not counting women and children. What a wonderful reading for the feast of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Just as Jesus becomes our food and drink daily in the Eucharist, he provided food and drink for the five thousand so they would not go hungry. God provides for our spiritual and physical nourishment. Let us give Him thanks and praise for His physical provision, but most of all, for His gift of Self to us in the Eucharist.
