Monday within the Octave of Easter
Acts 2:14, 22-33, Matthew 28:8-15Today’s readings are beautiful. They incorporate the story of Jesus’ consolation of the disciples, telling them not to be afraid. And we hear the collusion of the chief priests and elders concocting a story to explain the resurrection, saying the body of Jesus was stolen by his disciples. Also Peter stands up in Acts and widely proclaims that Jesus was crucified, died and was raised, while being witnessed by the disciples of Jesus.
In these readings, we can feel the power of the Holy Spirit flowing boldly throughout the region to bring about knowledge and recognition of Jesus.
