Luke 15:1-3, 11-32
Luke 15:1-3, 11-32In today’s gospel, Jesus tells the parable of the Prodigal Son. The definiton of prodigal is “recklessly extravagant.” When we think of the son, we could say he was surely reckless. But to see “recklessly extravagant,” we look to the Father in the story. He was very generous with his son who returned after squandering his inheritance.
To see the mirror of this extravagance, we look to our Heavenly Father. He is “recklessly extravagant” with us. We squander the love of God many times.
Take a few minutes today to contemplate the extravagance of God.
