Blessed Are They who Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness, for they shall be satisfied
1 Sm 17:32-33, 37, 40-51In today’s first reading, David goes up against Goliath. In the reading, we hear the absolute trust of David in God. David said, “The same Lord who delivered me from the claws of the lion and the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”
And we also witness Saul’s trust: Saul answered David, “Go! the Lord will be with you.”
May we live our lives with that complete confidence in the Lord. If we do, when we hunger and thirst for righteousness, we will be sure of the goodness and provision of the Lord.
