Fifth Sunday of Easter
John 15:1-8Today’s gospel reading is the teaching of the vine and the branches. If we truly enter into the depth of this reading we see the profound meaning of how important we are to God. We are directly attached to the vine, who is Jesus Christ! And the Father, Our Creator, is the vinegrower. We can also glean some truths of the spiritual life. We are nothing unless we “abide” in the Lord. And “apart from” him we “Can do nothing.” But with Him, we can do everything.
Take a few moments today and reflect on these beautiful realities that are so simply taught in today’s parable.
