I believe in the Communion of Saints
The Apostle’s Creed professes, “I believe in the Communion of Saints.” These are the souls who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith who have “washed their robes in the Blood of the Lamb” (Rev 7:14). They have fought the good fight. They have finished the race. As St. Paul points out in 2 Timothy 4:7, these are those who will win the crown of righteousness.
Saints sometimes seem like lofty figures too far above us to even contemplate. But on the contrary, they are normal people like you amd me, who have desired to follow God’s laws by loving God and neighbor. They are simple folk who have found their joy and strength in the Lord. Let us daily call upon them to intercede for us before the Throne of God for grace for us to “win the good fight.”
