Thirty Third Sunday in Ordinary Time
Matthew 25:14-30Today’s gospel is the parable of the talents. Each servant is given a differnt amount of talents and the master of the property comes to collect those talents after a period of time. Each servant reports his earnings made from the investment of his given talents. The master praises each one except the one who buried his talent so as not to lose it. The master is very displeased with this servant, expecting to have recieived some profit from his investment.
This parable should give us pause to think about the many blessings we have received from God. What do we have to show for them? How about your God-given talents? The ability to work hard? The ability to speak in public? The ability to be a good Mom/Dad? Have these gifts from God yielded fruit? Will God be pleased with what you have accomplished with His investment in you?
I am sure we all have something positive to give to the Lord. Take some time to think about that today.
