Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary TimeMatthew 14:13-21
Today’s gospel speaks of the generosity of Jesus and His deep humility. Matthew tells of the events of the day. One verse tells that Jesus cured all the sick. One verse. And then the last two verses tell how Jesus fed over 5000 men, women, and children. What humility. No fanfare announcing His great works or the multiplication of food. Jesus just does miraculous works and moves on to the next need. We must follow in His steps. Do good to those God puts in our path and move on to the next need.
Jesus, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
