Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Matthew 13:24-30Today’s gospel is a wonderful contemplation when we wonder about the fairness of life. The parable teaches that wheat and weeds were both sown in the garden. The weeds were sown by the evil one. The servants question what to do now that both wheat and weeds are growing together. The Master recommends to let them both grow. At the harvest, the wheat will be gathered into the barn and the weeds wil be burned.
In life, there is good and evil. We must strive to continue to be good. We want to be gathered into the Master’s barn at the harvest and not burned with the weeds. Remember that God is all Mercy. But He is also Justice.
