Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary TimeMatthew 11:25-30
In today’s gospel reading Jesus speaks of the intimate bond between the Father and the Son. We will know the Father if Jesus wishes to reveal Him to us. The gospel then goes on to invite the weary and burdened into the peace of Christ. There we can find refreshment. This close relationship of Father and Son is not mistakenly placed next to the invitation to find rest taking on the yoke of Christ. Both the Father and the Son are meek and humble of heart. And we will enter into this peace and contentment through our relationship with them. It is the only way to grow in those virtues we see so apparently in Jesus.
