Feast Day of St. Gengulf
Here is quick synopsis of St. Gengulf’s life: He was born to wealthy Burgundian nobility, and he became a knight and courtier. St. Gengulf married a noble woman who proved frequently unfaithful. Ashamed of her actions, but not wishing her harm, Gengulf became a hermit in his castle at Avallon, France, leaving his staff of servants to care for his wife. He was murdered in his bed by his wife‘s lover. Gengulf is especially admired in the Netherlands, Belgium, and the Savoy.
St. Gengulf, pray for us.
