Saturday within the Octave of Easter
I believe in the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. The gospel passage today is Mk 16:9-15. Mary Magdalene and two disciples see the Lord on two separate occasions. They report back to the apostles who do not believe them. Jesus chastises the apostles for their unbelief. But He then goes on to give them a mission: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.”
We may falter in our service to the Lord. And He may correct us (which is good for our humility). But that does not mean he does not need us any more. Repent and move on. We are still needed to serve. We are to be the Hands and Feet of Christ in the world today. As imperfect as we are, we need not worry. God is the one who makes all things good. We plant the seed; God provides the growth.
