Wisdom—the gift of contemplative reflection on, and love for, divine things. It enables one to assess the world by revealed truths and instills peace in the soul.
Proclamation of Faith:
“I believe in the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.”
The Blessed Mother:
May we experience God’s protection as Mary did, by imitating her obedience to God’s Will. Protection Through Obedience.
Jesus:
The life of Christ exemplified prudence, always seeking to do God’s Will alone. May we do the same.

Impassability—we will be immune from death and pain. (Rev 21:4, I Cor 15:50-57)

Feast Day of Saint James

Apostle

Saint James was the brother of Saint John, both apostles of the Lord. They were nicknamed "Sons of Thunder" by Our Lord. "Saint James was one of the favored three who had the privilege of witnessing the Transfiguration, the raising to life of the daughter of Jairus, and the agony in Gethsemani." (Franciscan Media) Saint James is reported to have been the first of the apostles to be martyred. It is interesting to note Saint James the Apostle is not the one who wrote the Letter of Saint James in the Bible.

Mission

We could find no better way to describe the purpose of Daily Beatitude than the Prologue of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Paragraph 1:

God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church. To accomplish this, when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son as Redeemer and Savior. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life.

We are called to live in beatitude. This contemplation is one designed to help us incorporate the beatitudes into our day. This work is not one of absolutes. It is just one way to incorporate the countenance of Jesus into each day. It is not the only way. View our rationale.
