Tuesday of Holy Week
John 13:21-33, 36-38Today's gospel gives us two people who betray Jesus. In the Last Supper scene, John leans on the chest of Jesus and asks who it is who will betray Our Lord.
"Jesus answered, 'It is the one to whom I hand the morsel after I have dipped it.' So he dipped the morsel and [took it and] handed it to Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot."
Then Jesus tells the disciples that He is leaving them and Peter says he will go anywhere the Lord goes. Peter says he will lay down his life for Jesus. And Jesus responds, "Will you lay down your life for me? Amen, amen, I say to you, the cock will not crow before you deny me three times."
Two traitors, one repentant sinner.
May we all be repentant sinners who one day become saints.
